This video is the result of a 3 month drone journey throughout Los Angeles. #DJIcreator Beverly Hills Aerials used every waking free moment to scout, plan, and shoot a variation of iconic locations and inspiring architecture. We shot approximately 50 different locations and only selected the absolute best shots. Focused on precision, speed, proper time of day, and most importantly, safety. “After the Storm” was captured over Los Angeles in 8K resolution in March 2018. These scenes were captured over the course of 90 minutes from the Malibu hills, looking east over Los Angeles. An overnight storm passed through the city and lingered to the east, creating this unique scene.

This is the second in a series of 8K videos that explore the longer view. Most timelapses are, by definition, very fast. By slowing things down, we can fully observe a change occurring - day becoming night, a storm passing overhead, the myriad movements of a city.

Above LA is a love letter to Los Angeles and showcases my favorite way to view the city - from above. Whether on a rooftop, a hill, or a mountain, getting above the grind of the city allows you to appreciate it in a new way. Once you get even slightly above, the views and sounds begin to change dramatically.

Getting above it all has been instrumental in helping me get to know and appreciate Los Angeles. This piece was produced off and on over the course of two years, and the clips selected for this film are only a small percentage of what I captured during my quest to take in the city from different locations and in new ways. Some of the locations featured are popular and easy to access, others require some searching and hiking, and some are heavily restricted. But I encourage everyone - lifelong Angelenos, transplants, visitors - to hit the trails, drive the mountain roads, find a reason to get on top of a high-rise. From the basin to the valley, this city offers so many opportunities to rise above and look down. Never stop exploring.

It’s a landmark that attracts over a million visitors every year, combining spectacular views of Los Angeles with fascinating exhibits of astronomical and meteorological tools, including telescopes, a planetarium, and even a Tesla coil. The building’s purpose — to make the mysteries of the vast cosmos more accessible and of interest to the public — is echoed in its visually impressive architecture, and it has appeared in dozens of movies such as La La Land and The Terminator (just to name a few). Pay this amazing place a visit, either in person or through this video, and you’ll soon see why it’s so sought after as a shooting location. There’s even a bust on the Observatory’s grounds that honors one of the most iconic antiheroes of the silver screen.

He's Axel Foley, a Detroit detective who's been sent on involuntary vacation because he refuses to drop his intention of avenging his friend's murder. Warned by Beverly Hills police chief Ronny Cox to stay out of trouble, Foley nonetheless dogs the trail of above-the-law Steven Berkoff, the British crime czar who was responsible for the murder of Foley's friend. With the help of sympathetic local cops Judge Reinhold and John Ashton and lady friend Lisa Eilbacher, Foley attempts to corner Berkoff in his mansion, which leads to a wild slapsticky shootout.
